Electromagnetic Radiation is omnipresent in our modern lives; I'm referring to the manmade variety. I haven't confirmed this but I would bet Japan has the highest concentration of cell phone towers. They're atop apartment buildings, beside schools (look at photos below), in subway stations, planted in church and temple properties. This report from Australia's Channel Nine shows how malignant childhood cancer is increasing bigtime in that country. Is this because of exposure to cell phones, high tension power lines, and TVs a few inches from our faces, coupled with processed foods and lack of exercise and sunshine?

The Telegraph's Booker doesn't think we're all going to fry to death in the near future because of catastrophic global warming. In the second paragraph we read:
...the latest US satellite figures showing temperatures having fallen since 1998, declining in 2007 to a 1983 level - not to mention the newly revised figures for US surface temperatures showing that the 1930s had four of the 10 warmest years of the past century, with the hottest year of all being not 1998, as was previously claimed, but 1934.

Judge Napolitano debates his book, A Nation of Sheep, with John Gibson of Fox News. A nation of sheep because "We the people" have allowed District of Columbia lawmakers to remove Bill of Rights-based laws of the land that guarantee freedom of speech and due process. Under the Patriot Act, DC has grown in size and power beyond the limits the Constitution mandates. FBI agents can now write their own search warrants and trash your home. If this happens to you you are expected to keep your mouth shut or face up to five years. The First and Fourth Amendments (of the Bill of Rights) are in violation here. Most Americans don't care. Too baaad. Highly applicable to Japan not just because of Judge Napolitano's history lesson at the end of the above clip.
Japan finished a three-day weekend 24 hours ago. The weather in much of the country was glorious. Kyoto's Daigo-ji 醍醐寺 is home to the Azuchi-Momoyama period Toyotomi Hideyoshi-sponsored Sampo-in 三宝院 garden. Many Japanese and non-Japanese are familiar with Ryoanji's famous 500-year-old Zen rock garden with its 15 stones. Sampo-in, in contrast, has at least 700! Azuchi-Momoyama was colorful and rich, just like this garden and warlord* Toyotomi Hideyoshi. This is one of those places you wish you could have to yourself and invite your friends and family to study at your leisure, under all atmospheric conditions. Photography is not permitted in the garden. I have uploaded a few shots taken just outside it (but the trees in these photos are all in the garden). Late afternoon is the best time to visit.
*Toyotomi Hideyoshi never became shogun because he was born a peasant.

Japan's November 20th 2007 initiative to fingerprint and photograph most foreigners coming into Japan is related to the federal power-grab happening in America and Europe--indeed throughout the world. The (illegal) authority giving FBI agents the power to write their own search warrants and the secrecy surrounding them* is the same force dismantling our rights everywhere.
